Fresh crisis seems to be brewing at the Glass House over the monthly take-home of the newly signed Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr, as members of the Technical and Development Sub-committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has denied any knowledge of the amount offered to the German tactician.
The Communication department of the federation had last week confirmed that the former Bordeaux and Etoile du Sahel chief coach sealed a two-year deal in the presence of federation President, Amaju Pinnick and General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
However, responding to the inquiry on the take-home offered the German, a member of the committee told SportingSun that the amount given was still shrouded in mystery, accusing Amaju of running a one-man show.
“I will tell you the gospel truth, no member of the technical committee knows how much NFF offered to the technical adviser. If he is receiving $5, 000 a month, none of the committee members know about it. I know it will look very surprising that the federation signed a coach and the technical committee does not know about it.
“You can see what is going and if the technical committee did not know how much, I don’t know how the Executive Committee will know. You can recall that there was no formal meeting by the board for ratification before the signing of the deal
“Even if it is not the federation that is picking the bill, it is fair to let the technical committee and the members have insight over what his take-home should be. But as it is now, everybody is blank on how much a foreigner in our employment is earning. It goes to prove our claim that Amaju is running a one-man show for now,” our source noted.
